Absolutely agree with Steve…the last thing we need is another “over managed” festival. The only ingredients we need are great music and people. A little common sense (admittedly lacking for the average UK citizen) should take care of everything else.

2012 was awsome, aprt from Florence cancelling (gutted!), suggest getting an apartment much easier. Bring on 2013…..

As a 40 year Old Fart and veteran of 3 FIBs…
Security is minimal because it’s not required. I’m not sure if it’s still the case but when I lived in Spain in the early 90’s Marijuana wasn’t illegal.
Bins do get a bit full but the rats will come anyway.
Signage – WTF, it aint a big town?
Quiet Zones, bejesus that infuriates me…buy ear plugs or just learn to enjoy the youthful ambience.
Just check with the FIB huts for updates on the way to the beach every morning/afternoon.
This is a fantastic festival and the last thing it needs is more control, security and beaurocracy, equally stiff upper lips should be left at home. It’s the British Festivals that are heading in the wrong direction not the European ones.

Top festival but the staff (especially on the car park) didn’t know their arse from their elbow.
See you next year. Nice one

Had an amazing time at the 2012 FIB. But please, please improve the access routes.
How about some more VIP facilities… a package of toilets, bars and food seating area. Take a look at the Virgin VIP lounge at V festival in England.
Thanks for a great event, Tudor

I really enjoyed Benicassm – especially High Flying Birds and Stone Roses. Sadly the downside of the whole experience was the (free) camping which was noisy the whole night. Even from 6am when the music stopped. people had no respect. The cold showers were a good idea but the loos stayed dirty and the rubbish was left for 5days. there were rats in the tree on our site, attracted by the waste.
Compared to many festivals i have been to over the last 15 years, security was sparse and whilst i saw no trouble, drug dealing was rife.
In my view, at the ripe old age of 35 and old enough to have seen stone roses first time, most revellers were underage. often overheard discussing ‘year 11 or 12’. that could explain general lack of respect for the environment or for others i guess.
Upside to Benicassim is the couple of kms to the lovely beaches and plentiful bars and cafes. Great for snacking or dozing. Also loads of local bazars selling tents, chairs, coolboxes, parasols etc – ll very cheaply so you almost dont need to take anything like that with you.
Some suggested improvements for ’13
– more visible security
– more bins and frequent collection
– better signage
– quiet zones for old farts
– better communication of programme changes. eg prog seller didn’t even mention florence had cancelled for that night and at 1am it wasnt announced.
