FIB Benicassim 2016 continued the festival’s impressive run of well-curated line-ups, with a bill that included The Strokes, Disclosure and Foals at the top end, and a strong selection of emerging talent on the smaller stages.
The Strokes headlined on the opening night and delivered a characteristically cool, slightly detached set that divided opinion - though the classics from Is This It and Room on Fire were met with mass singalongs. Disclosure brought the festival to life in the early hours with a production-heavy DJ set that made full use of the outdoor setting.
The weather, as usual, was exceptional. Temperatures hovered around 32°C during the day, dropping to a still-warm 24°C overnight - ideal festival conditions. The beach and Aquarama water park were busy throughout the daytime hours as festival-goers made the most of the surroundings before the music kicked off each evening.
