The most popular way to do FIB. Your guide to the two main camping options and what to pack for a Spanish summer festival.
For most FIB veterans, camping is not just a way to save money - it is an essential part of what makes Benicassim special. The campsite sits beside the Mediterranean, which means waking up to the sound of waves and Mediterranean sunshine before strolling to the stages.
Camping access is included with all weekend tickets, making it the most cost-effective way to attend. The campsite stays lively long after the main stages close, with music, food and an atmosphere that is impossible to recreate in a hotel room.
There are two main camping options for FIB 2026. Here is how they compare.
The official FIB campsite sits adjacent to the festival site itself, less than five minutes’ walk from the main stages. It is the most popular and most convenient option, with direct access to all festival areas included in your wristband.
Pitches are allocated on a first-come basis. Arrive early on day one to secure a good spot near your group.
BeniCamp is an independent campsite located closer to the beach, approximately two miles from the main festival arena. It offers a slightly quieter atmosphere away from the main site, with a free shuttle bus running to and from the festival throughout the day and night.
The free shuttle runs regularly but can get very busy late at night after the main acts finish. Factor in extra time when heading back.
FIB is not a muddy British festival. The heat changes everything. Here is what experienced campers bring.
A dark tent in direct Spanish July sunshine will be unbearably hot. Choose a light or silver-coloured tent with good mesh ventilation. Many campers buy a cheap tent specifically to leave behind at the end of the festival - it reduces the stress of keeping expensive gear safe in a shared campsite.
The midday sun at FIB is not optional - it is relentless. Factor 50 sunscreen applied throughout the day is essential. A wide-brimmed hat and a small pop-up sun canopy for your camping pitch will make the afternoon hours significantly more bearable.
Free drinking water points are located around the festival site. A two-litre refillable bottle is the minimum. Staying hydrated in sustained heat, especially if you are also drinking alcohol, is not something to underestimate. Dehydration can ruin a festival day very quickly.
Leave a solar charger on top of your tent during the day and your phone will be fully charged for the evening with no queuing at charging points. A large power bank is a good backup. Phone signal at FIB can be patchy during peak hours, so downloading offline maps and set times in advance is wise.
The ground at FIB is hard. An insulated sleeping mat makes a significant difference to the quality of your sleep. Nights in Benicassim in July are warm - around 20–22°C - so a sleeping bag liner is plenty. You will not need a thick sleeping bag.
The campsite stays lively throughout the night. Whether you want to sleep early or simply protect your hearing from three days of loud music, earplugs are essential. Bring several pairs in case you lose one in the night.
Camping is included with all weekend tickets. Make sure yours are secured before they sell out.
