Benicassim does not have its own airport, but it is well served by several nearby options. Here is how to find the best deal.
Our top tip: Valencia is by far the closest airport to the festival, just 75 km away. If you can find a good deal flying into Valencia, take it. Use price comparison sites such as Skyscanner or Google Flights to check all nearby airports and find the best value.
The best option for most British festival-goers. Direct flights operate from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Manchester, Edinburgh and more. EasyJet and Ryanair both operate routes, with fares often available from around £60–100 return when booked early. The festival bus from Valencia Airport takes around 70 minutes.
Near Tarragona, around 150 km north of Benicassim. Ryanair operates from several UK airports including London Stansted, Edinburgh, Manchester and Liverpool. Can be very cheap, but factor in the longer transfer time (around 2 hours on the festival bus). Worth comparing against Valencia.
The largest airport in the region with the widest choice of UK routes and airlines. If you fly into Barcelona, consider arriving a day or two early to enjoy the city before heading to Benicassim. Festival bus transfer takes around 2.5 hours. Not the most efficient route, but the extra choice can mean better value fares.
Alicante is a popular package holiday destination with lots of cheap UK flights. However, it sits 280 km south of Benicassim, so the transfer is around 2.5 hours. Worth considering if the flight saving is significant, or if you want to combine the festival with time on the Costa Blanca.
Most major UK airports have routes to at least one of the Spanish airports serving Benicassim.
Both airports offer direct flights to Valencia on multiple airlines. Heathrow and Gatwick generally have the most choice of routes and timings to all four destination airports.
EasyJet from Luton and Ryanair from Stansted both fly to Valencia and Alicante. Budget carriers make these airports a strong option, particularly for price-conscious travellers.
Manchester Airport has strong links to Valencia, Barcelona and Alicante, making it the natural choice for festival-goers travelling from the North of England and beyond.
Scottish travellers can fly direct to Alicante, Barcelona and sometimes Valencia from both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Check Ryanair and EasyJet for current routes.
Leeds Bradford operates seasonal routes to Spanish airports including Alicante and Barcelona. Routes can be limited but worth checking, particularly for Yorkshire festival-goers.
Ryanair operates from Liverpool to several Spanish destinations. Check Barcelona (Reus) and Alicante options for potentially competitive fares.
Newcastle Airport has Spanish routes, predominantly to Alicante and Barcelona. Limited but worth checking for travellers in the North East.
Both airports serve Spanish destinations and can offer competitive prices for festival-goers in the South West and Midlands who want to avoid London airports.
Flights to Spain in mid-July are in high demand. Book as early as possible for the best prices. Fares to Valencia for festival week can be very reasonable when booked six months in advance but soar as the date approaches.
Use Skyscanner's "everywhere" search to compare all nearby Spanish airports at once. Sometimes flying into Alicante and hiring a car is cheaper than a direct Valencia flight, even accounting for the petrol.
If you can take a day off work, flying out on a Wednesday or Thursday before the festival begins (16 July) can be significantly cheaper than flying on the weekend. Return flights on a Sunday or Monday are often pricier too.
Use Google Flights or Skyscanner to set alerts for your preferred route. You will receive an email when fares drop, so you can book at the right moment without having to check every day.
With budget carriers, cabin luggage fees can add significantly to the cost. If you are camping, travel as light as possible. Buy toiletries and any non-essential items once you arrive in Spain rather than paying to check in a large bag.
Sometimes booking flights and hotel together through a package provider works out cheaper than booking separately. If you are not camping, compare packages against booking each element individually.
Now sort your travel from the airport to the festival site, and find somewhere to stay.
