Promoters VPMG, run by Mean Fiddler founder Mr Vince Power have taken over Benicassim Festival. The change in ownership comes as FIB founders José Luis and Miguel Morán, who established it in 1995, have decided to sell their share to Mr Power for an undisclosed sum. The Irish-born Mr Power’s VPMG have taken full control of the festival from previous promoter Maragold, which is owned by the Morán brothers.
It is not known what the change in ownership will mean for the future of Bencassim or the musical direction going forward. One thing is certain, that with more than 200,000 UK fans visiting the festival in 2009, that the festival will continue to go from strength to strength under its new ownership.

hmm yeah. oh well, festivals are damn good wherever good bands play or not. Drunken mayhem

Well, after the latest announcment of bands to play this year it looks like most peoples fears about Vince Power taking over are justified, same prices, crap line-up. I predict a slow and steady decline for the once great Benicassim festival!
Today has made my mind up to find another european festival, unless they have something up their sleeves, Beni has the worst line up of any festival around.
